He was born on February 6, 1974, in New Hampton, Iowa, and lived a life marked by hard work, humor, and a spirited personality that left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Tony grew up with a practical mind and a willingness to learn, qualities that would guide him throughout his life. He earned his GED in San Diego, California, and later completed a technical degree in auto mechanics, building the foundation for a lifelong career centered around vehicles and hands-on problem solving. From an early age, he showed a natural ability to understand how things worked, and he carried that talent with him into adulthood. He spent time working at Target earlier in life while out west, but much of his working life was devoted to auto parts stores, where his knowledge, experience, and steady presence made him a valuable resource to coworkers and customers alike.

Tony was the kind of person who could fix just about anything. He was known as a jack of all trades and was always willing to help repair something around the house or lend a hand when a problem needed solving. He enjoyed sharing the skills he had learned over the years, especially when it came to automotive work, and he took pride in teaching others what he knew. He had a gift for making practical knowledge useful to others, and he often did so with patience, confidence, and a little bit of mischief.

Those who knew Tony will remember that he was spirited and full of personality. He had a playful side and was easily annoyed by his mom, though it was the kind of teasing and picking on each other that reflected a close and familiar bond. He had a mischievous streak that often brought humor into everyday life, and he was never far from a clever remark or a lighthearted moment. He enjoyed simple pleasures and found joy in time spent with his dogs, who were among his greatest companions. He loved his dogs deeply and appreciated the comfort and loyalty they brought into his life.

Tony also enjoyed spending time with family in ways that created lasting memories. He liked to cook for his family, and he took pride in preparing meals for the people he cared about. He enjoyed playing UNO, where his competitive spirit and sense of fun often came through. He also loved watching The Dukes of Hazzard and Married with Children, shows that reflected his appreciation for humor, personality, and a little bit of edge. These interests were part of what made Tony unique, and they remain cherished reminders of the life he lived.

He will be remembered not only for the work he did and the knowledge he shared, but also for the way he approached life with energy and determination. Tony was dependable, capable, and always ready to step in when something needed to be fixed or figured out. He had a way of making himself useful and memorable at the same time, and his presence brought comfort, laughter, and practical help to many.

Anthony is survived by parents Bruce (Diane) Dann of Charles City; brother Matt (Anita) Hoffman of Charles City; sisters Jennifer Hoffman of Charles City and Jill (Richmond Bette) Dann of Virginia; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother Christopher Dann.
