OBIT: Doris June Jeffrey

Doris June (Coyle) Jeffrey, 99, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 27. (which would have been her 100th birthday) at 10:30 a.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford with a celebration of life/luncheon following at the United Methodist Church, Rockford.

Doris June (Coyle) Jeffrey, 99, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 27, 1926, in Thornton, Iowa, Doris was one of eight children born to Edward and Dulcie (Hartwig) Coyle.

On September 21, 1947, Doris married the love of her life, Dale Jeffrey. Together, in their rural Rockford home-a Heritage Farm- they built a life of family and hard work raising six children and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

Doris was a devoted homemaker who cherished her home where she lived for 79 years. It was a gathering place for generations of family, friends, and neighbors. She always had a ready cup of coffee for anyone who came to visit. She found joy in tending her garden, cooking for family,caring for her flowers, and spending time with family. Doris was a member of the United Methodist Church in Rockford and deeply valued her faith. She was a member of Ladies Aid and the Methodist Circle.

Above all else, Doris was most proud of her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother,great-grandmother,and great-great-grandmother whose steady presence, quiet strength, and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She was known for her strong faith, resilience, and deep love for those around her.

Doris is survived by her children: Janice (Allan) Kuhlers of Rockford; Julie (Rick) Demaray of Rockford; Bill Jeffrey of Rockford; Barbara Lein of Clear Lake; and Peggy (Scott) Larson of Callander, along with 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dale Jeffrey, her son Max Jeffrey, and her grandson Coleman Larson,also her parents and seven siblings.

Doris was known and loved by many throughout her 99 years and left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 27. (which would have been her 100th birthday) at 10:30 a.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford with a celebration of life/luncheon following at the United Methodist Church, Rockford.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Methodist Church window project or to the Ronald McDonald House.
