OBIT: Michael David Hanna

Michael Hanna, 75, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. A celebration of life visitation will be held on Sunday February 15, 2026, Michael’s family will greet relatives and friends from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., at the Clear Lake VFW Post 4868.

Clear Lake – Michael Hanna, 75, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family.

A celebration of life visitation will be held on Sunday February 15, 2026, Michael’s family will greet relatives and friends from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., at the Clear Lake VFW Post 4868, located at 219 Main Avenue, Clear Lake, Iowa. Military honors will be conducted by members of the Clear Lake VFW. Memorials may be directed in care of the family.

Michael Hanna was born on March 22, 1950, in Forest City, Iowa, the son of Robert and Lois (Albertson) Hanna. He graduated from Forest City High School with the class of 1968. Michael later enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving his country until his honorable discharge.

Michael was employed at Winnebago Industries for 40 years, where he built a successful and dedicated career. While working at Winnebago, he met Pam, and the two were united in marriage on November 13, 1989.

In his free time, Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tending to his flower gardens. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a member of the Clear Lake Fishing Club, North Iowa Angler’s Club, Pheasants Forever, and Ducks Unlimited. Michael loved the outdoors, especially cruising around the lake and doing a peaceful “lake lap.”

Michael is survived by his wife, Pam Hanna; children, Kari (Shawn) Olson, Travis (Mary Jo) Rieck, Troy (Dena ) Rieck, Melissa (Carlos) Olvera; grandchildren, Tamika (Cole), Trevor (Jaclyn), Hannah, Madison, Hunter, Andrew, Hayden, Brooke, CJ, Sophie ; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, David (Mary) Hanna; sisters-in-law, Teresa Hanna and Doris Butcher, brother-in-law, Paul Pagel; his best friend Bill Sellers; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lois Hanna, In-laws, William and Patricia Pagel and his brother, Steven “T-Bone” and sister-in-law, Peggy Gibson.
