REINBECK — A northern Iowa house raid by law enforcement led to multiple drug charges against a Reinbeck man, who later pleaded guilty in Grundy County court.

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office said deputies executed a search warrant on June 17, 2025, at 206 Clark Street in Reinbeck. As a result of the search, Dalton James McIntire, 26, of Reinbeck, was arrested.

Authorities said McIntire was initially held in the Grundy County Jail on a $10,000 bond. He was charged at the time with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, third or subsequent offense possession of methamphetamine, third or subsequent offense possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a prescription drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Court records show McIntire later pleaded guilty on Dec. 5, 2025, to possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense, a Class D felony. He also pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a prescription drug, a serious misdemeanor.

Judge David F. Staudt sentenced McIntire (pictured at top) to a five-year prison term on the felony drug possession conviction, but the prison sentence was suspended. McIntire was placed on three years of probation and ordered to meet DNA requirements. A $1,025 fine was also imposed and suspended, according to court records.

On the prescription drug conviction, McIntire received a 30-day jail sentence, which was also suspended, and was placed on three years of probation. He was also ordered to meet DNA requirements and fined $430.

Court records show three other counts were dismissed by the court: failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a controlled substance violation, and third or subsequent offense possession of marijuana.

The case stems from the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office search warrant at the Reinbeck home, part of law enforcement’s ongoing efforts to address drug activity in northern Iowa communities.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
