Richard “Dick” John Zatloukal, 81, of Clear Lake, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. In accordance with his wishes, the family will hold a private service to honor his life.
Dick was born on June 20, 1943, in Oakland, California, to Arthur John and Agnes (Schuller) Zatloukal. His family later moved to Laurens, Iowa, and eventually settled in Eagle Grove, where Dick graduated from Eagle Grove High School. He continued his education at junior college before proudly serving in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1967.
Following his honorable discharge, Dick made his home in Iowa City, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Iowa. He went on to work as a finance manager for several companies before partnering with his brother to open Residential Realty in Webster City, Iowa.
An avid outdoorsman, Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting various treasures throughout his life.
Dick is survived by his siblings, Daniel (Whitney) Zatloukal of Webster City, IA, and Dona (Gene) Rohrer of Mason City, IA; sister-in-law, Janice Zatloukal; as well as his nieces and nephews, Brett, Shaun, Shane,Shelly, Angie, Jerry, Richard, Wendy, Dean, Ryan, Patrick, and Jaime.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Agnes Zatloukal, and his siblings, Kate, Jerry, and Pat Zatloukal.
