(Mason City) – The Cerro Gordo County Board of Health and the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health are recruiting interested and qualified individuals in Cerro Gordo County to serve on the H.E.A.L.T.H (Helping Everyone Achieve Long Term Health) for Life Foundation Board of Directors.
The mission of the H.E.A.L.T.H for Life Board is to advance excellence in health outcomes by securing and directing resources to improve the health of Cerro Gordo County. Health outcomes with high priorities include preventative health such as cervical and breast cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, wellness and environment. Wellness initiatives look at fitness programming, health and nutrition and tobacco cessation and environmental concerns review food and water safety, health inspections and air quality.
The major objectives of the H.E.A.L.T.H for Life Board are to promote and fund health initiatives, encourage collaboration among community health and non-health community-based organizations, support public awareness and promulgate the principle that health is both a collective responsibility of the community and individual. The Board consists of seven members with staggered three year terms and meets quarterly.
