MASON CITY – A level III sex offender jailed in Mason City made his way to another inmate’s cell and inflicted injuries, leading to assault charges.

A report from the Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office shows that the alleged attack took place on the morning of November 3. At 10:15 AM that morning, 52-year-old William Albert Kibble, Jr. out of St. Paul, Minnesota, went to the cell of a 49-year-old male inmate and “started an argument and then started to fight the victim. The victim suffered scraps (sic) and cuts to the face. The defendant intended to inflict injury on the victim.”

As a result, Kibble was charged with assault causing serious injury – a serious misdemeanor. He’ll face a hearing on November 14.

Kibble was wanted in Cerro Gordo county since March of 2014 in connection to a false imprisonment charge brought by Mason City police in 2013. He was finally served with the warrant this past September 29 and brought to the county jail.  For violating his probation in that case, he was sentenced to 120 days in jail.

According to TwinCities.com, Kibble is a Level III sex offender (highest risk) who had plans to move to St. Paul, Minnesota, this year after his release from prison.

“Kibble has a history of sexual contact and domestic assault with women,” TwinCities.com reported back in March. “In one case, Kibble assaulted the victim by holding her against her will. She and Kibble knew each other before the offense. In another incident, which involved sexual touching, Kibble used force to accost the victim in a public place. She and Kibble did not know each other.”

    1. Throw them all in together and give them a taste of their own medicine. Jail is supposed to be tough. It is not a little girls home.
