AMES – Two suspects are behind bars facing felony charges after police say they shot and robbed a young man over some drugs near a park in Ames.
On February 27, 2025, at 1:15 a.m., a 19-year-old victim reported he was shot in the abdomen in the 2500 block of Jensen Avenue, reportedly after a bad drug deal. The victim was transported by private vehicle to Mary Greeley Medical Center and treated for his injuries.
At the hospital, the victim said he was robbed and shot by two males. He said the suspects fled the area in a dark four-door car. He described one suspect as a heavy set, short white male. The second suspect is described as a tall black male.
As the result of the continued investigation, two suspects have been arrested:
– Juan A. Davila Moore, age 23, of Ames was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery and attempted murder, both Class B felonies.
– Maliek W. Dut , age 22 of Ames was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery and attempted murder, both Class B felonies.
Police say they are continuing to investigate the incident.
