Judith H. Johnson, the daughter of Holger and Irene (Harvego) Aagard was born June 27, 1947, in Estherville, Iowa. She died on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 77.

She received her education and graduated from Estherville High School. She then attended Iowa Lakes Community College.

On October 2, 1966, she was united in marriage to Dennis Johnson at Huntington United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Huntington and farmed for many years before moving to Estherville. For hobbies, Judy enjoyed volunteering at the VFW, church and veterans’ charity, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was a past member of Huntington United Methodist Church and most recently Dolliver United Methodist Church. She served on various church boards, Sunday School Teacher, and UMW Treasurer. She also served on 4-H Council and was very active on the VFW Auxiliary.

Left to cherish Judy’s memory are her husband, Dennis of Estherville; sons, Brent Johnson of Spirit Lake; Jeremy (Elizabeth) Johnson of Estherville; two grandchildren, Tucker and Estelle Johnson; brother, Stephen (Mary) Aagard of Norwalk; brother-in-law, Allen Diekmann of Estherville and several nieces and nephews.

She has been preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janet Diekmann.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the VFW Post 3388 Building Fund or the Dolliver United Methodist Church.
