OBIT: Karen Ann Jungling

Karen Ann Jungling, 82, of Bristow, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Sheffield Care Center. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Woodley Funeral Home in Dumont.

Karen Ann Jungling, 82, of Bristow, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Sheffield Care Center. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Woodley Funeral Home in Dumont. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Woodley Funeral Home in Dumont. Karen will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in rural Bristow. Woodley Funeral Home of Dumont is caring for Karen and her family.

Karen was born November 22, 1941, in Clarion, daughter of Lloyd and Dorothy (Olsen) Bailey. She attended schools in Alexander and graduated from Dumont High School, class of 1959. On June 17, 1960, Karen was united in marriage to Harry James Jungling in Aredale. To this union, three children were born.

Karen worked as a bank teller at Aredale State Bank, a seamstress at Powers and a full-time farmer’s wife. She was a member of Bristow Reformed Church. Karen enjoyed music and singing trios with her sisters and her daughters. She loved reading, gardening and camping. Karen also enjoyed helping on the farm and loved baking, especially baking cookies for friends and family. Karen’s family was so important to her and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Karen is survived by her children: Deanne (Tim) Winkowitsch of Bristow, Dawn (Danny) Winkowitsch of Clear Lake and Danny (Jennifer) Jungling of Holt, Missouri; grandchildren: Jesse Winkowitsch, Marty (Leah) Winkowitsch, Trista (Jon) Hauge, Brittany Winkowitsch, Kylie Jungling and Jordyn Jungling; great-grandchildren: Thomas, Devin and Raya Winkowitsch, Bennett, River and Sadie Winkowitsch, Jadyn and Hunter Hauge; sisters Ellen (Larry) Day of Shell Rock and Linda (John) Campbell of Hampton; sisters-in-law Judy Bailey of Waverly and Betty (Eldon) Siemers of Mason City; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry Jungling, brother Harold Bailey, nephew Doug Gerdes, niece Stacy Day, in-laws John and Henrietta Jungling and sister-in-law Darlene (Robert) Gerdes.
