SAC CITY – A Northern Iowa man will spend up to a decade behind bars after his sexual abuse of a child.
On August 30, 2024, Sac County resident Keith Mesner (pictured at op) was convicted of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree, a class “C” felony. Mesner’s victim was 14 years old at the time of the offense.
Chief District Judge Adria Kester ordered Mesner to immediately begin serving a 10-year prison sentence, the maximum allowable under the law, and placed him on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry for the remainder of his life.
The Sac City Police Department investigated the crime, assisted by the Sac County Sheriff’s Office. The Sac County Attorney, Ben Smith, prosecuted the case.
