Vanette Shannon McDougle, 63, of Mason City passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Vanette was born in Utah, the daughter of Harry and Betty (Feuerbach) Tripp. She was a graduate of Las Vegas High School. On June 10, 1988 she married Brian McDougle in Las Vegas. In 1993 the couple moved to Iowa. Throughout that time Vanette worked various jobs throughout the community until her health declined.
It was a known fact to many that Vanette was an excellent cook, and she knew how to make enough for everyone. Vanette enjoyed decorating her house for each holiday as well as gardening flowers. She was a caretaker at heart and felt obligated to help anyone including those in her neighborhood. Her friends and family all had a different nickname for her, “Nea-Nea”, “Vinney”, “Grams” and many others. Along with her love for her family she had two canine companions that she cherished as well, Coco and Tank.
Those left to cherish memories of Vanette are her husband, Brian McDougle; son, Edward D. Jackson; mother, Betty Tripp; siblings, Michael Tripp, Danny Tripp, Jim Tripp, Betty Jo Tripp, Ricky Ross, Chris Tripp, and Daniel Tripp; grandson, Nathaniel Milbrath; along with numerous extended family members and friends.
Vanette is preceded in death by her father.
