MASON CITY – Art on the Farm, an exhibition featuring artwork from the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum’s Permanent Collection, opens on Friday, January 18 at 9 a.m. in the Museum’s Center Space Gallery.
Images of farm life are familiar to most Iowans, but have you ever thought about all the different techniques artists use to create these iconic Midwest scenes? Art on the Farm highlights the different ways artists create farm animal images and what thoughts, feelings and ideas are revealed in their artwork. The exhibition, on display until Saturday, February 23, will also explore how livestock has helped Iowa grow economically and culturally.

The Charles H. MacNider Art Museum is FREE and open to the public. Regular museum hours are: Tuesday – Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Thursdays 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.; closed Sunday – Monday.
