On June 29, 2023, at about 6:00 AM, a silver 2014 Lincoln MKT being driven by 34-year-old Christopher Hackman of Rockford, Iowa, was driving west on 215th St (County Road B47) in Floyd County and entering Cerro Gordo County at Zinnia Ave (County Road S70) when he failed to stop at the intersection and entered the ditch on the west side of Zinnia causing air bags to deploy. Hackman was momentarily trapped inside the vehicle and needed assistance in getting out from first responders. He was then transported to Mercy ER where he was treated for his injuries.

Hackman is being charged with failure to maintain control and failure to prove security against liability.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Rockford Fire Department and Floyd County Sheriff’s Department.
