ALLISON – A Green man died at the scene when his van collided with a semi outside Allison Friday afternoon.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on Friday, June 23, 2023. On that afternoon, at about 3:12 PM, a 2001 Ford van driven by 64-year-old Paul Yerkes of Greene, Iowa, was westbound on Highway 3 outside Allison. The van entered the opposing lane and struck an eastbound 2016 International semi driven by 41-year-old Timothy Grittmann of Allison.
As a result of the collision, Yerkes died at the scene. Grittmann was taken to Waverly Health Center for undisclosed injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
