Robert R. Vasey the son of Robert W. and Florence “Winnette” (Clayton) Vasey was born December 4, 1944 in Estherville, Iowa. He died on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville at the age of 78.
Bob received his education and graduated from Graettinger High School in 1962. He then attended Morningside College. Bob served in the United States Marine Corp from 1963 until 1967.
Bob was employed with the United States Postal Service for 35 years. He worked at the Post Office in Wayzata, Minnesota for 10 years, Florida for 1 year and in Spencer, Iowa for 24 years retiring in 2004. For hobbies, Bob enjoyed walking, golfing, reading and was a Minnesota Twins fan.
Left to cherish Bob’s memory are his sister, Cynthia Smith of Boscobel, Wisconsin; nephews, Ross (Dawn) Lewis and Jeremy Lewis; niece, Amy Lewis; and nephew-in-law, Jim Amundson and his children, Drew (Adrian) Amundson; and cousins, Susan and Francis Hills of Washington State.
He has been preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, John, niece, Lizbeth Amundson , great niece Jourdan Amundson; and brother-in-law, Joseph Smith.
