ALTOONA, IOWA – Iowa’s hard-working, steadfast state patrol could not be fooled by an allegedly sneaky trucker trying to use cover of night to race through the Hawkeye state in a rig that was coming apart at the seems.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident occurred on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Very early that morning, near the Des Moines suburb of Altoona, they say, two troopers stopped a semi-truck traveling from Omaha to Chicago. Apparently, the troopers noticed the rig was in horrible shape and coming apart.

“No logs and no explanation as to why his trailer was nearly in pieces,” the patrol explained. “Trooper Hoffman and Trooper Griggs took this truck OUT of service early this morning near Altoona. The driver was traveling from Omaha to Chicago to pick up a load and thought he could travel in darkness to avoid being stopped.”

No word on who the driver was and if they faced penalties.
