DES MOINES – Police pleaded for help in catching the alleged nasty culprits terrorizing an elderly Iowa couple and with the public’s help, zeroed in on two suspects who now face felony charges.
Des Moines police say that thanks to tips from the public, their detectives identified the persons believed to be responsible for harassing an elderly couple using fireworks and causing damage to their home on the south side of the capitol city. A 42-yr-old male, Michael Porter; and a 16-yr-old male who’s name was withheld have both been charged with:
• Intimidation With A Dangerous Weapon
• Criminal Mischief – 2nd Degree
These are felony charges that stem from the ongoing harassment of an elderly couple.
DMPD detectives released images showing vehicles that were recorded on surveillance video harassing an elderly couple on the city’s south side. During this harassment, on more than one occasion during the late night hours, fireworks were launched at their home resulting in damages exceeding $1,000.
