It would be better if the workforce was smaller. Say one parent stayed home with the kids as most schooling is done online at home. Of course, this person would receive a monthly check from the Gov. It would be all around much more sustainable with less impact on the environment than the present way of doing things. Pollution #1. Less cars on the road. And each adult would get a check each month. A smaller workforce means less resources being used. Stay Home.

The problem with your “solution” is that the government doesn’t have any money until we send our money to them. If you are not working, the government doesn’t have the money to send out. Socialism doesn’t work, never has, never will.

Why are we not just using common sense, if you don’t want to eat out because you are worried, don’t do it. We don’t need the government to tell us we can’t. The elderly and people with health problems should shelter in place but the rest of us should be able to make a living and get on with our lives. The virus is not going away, a good percentage of people tested have had no symptoms. We can’t keep pretending to hide from in, we must all get back to work and let it run its course.

The numbers don’t make sense, ok, we have 7,900 confirmed cases, 170 deaths. This is no worse than the regular flu in Iowa and we are still at shutdown panic? Yes things are starting to open up but a restaurant can’t live on 50% of capacity and make a profit.
