ESTHERVILLE – A woman reported to police that a man tried to sexually assault her, leading cops to nab a culprit who had some meth with him.
On May 24, 2018 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Estherville Police were dispatched to the area of south 10th street and 7th avenue south to meet with a female victim of an alleged assault. Upon arrival, Estherville Police met with a female victim who reported that a male had attempted to sexually assault her while she was in a bedroom at 908 7th Avenue South.
Upon further investigation, Estherville Police arrested 43-year-old Wade Mitchell of Estherville. Mitchell was charged with Assault with the Intent to Commit Sexual Assault, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) 3rd , and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Mitchell was placed in the Emmet County Jail and was seen by a Magistrate. Mitchell was being held on a $3000 cash or surety bond and posted bond.
