Worth county woman given deferred judgement for ripping of disabled persons

CLEAR LAKE – Ripping off disabled persons merits just probation, the Cerro Gordo county justice system determined this week.

Kelly Ann Rieffer, age 46 of Manly, was sentenced to two years of probation for stealing from disabled persons at Opportunity Village in Clear Lake on July 31, 2015. Rieffer pleaded guilty to one charge of dependent adult abuse exploitation. She must pay $1,303.20 in fines, fees and restitution. She must also submit a DNA sample. If she completes her probation satisfactorily, her record could be wiped clean.

Rifer was accused by Clear Lake police of using a credit card from Fareway that belonged to residents at Opportunity Village. Court records show she is also facing a charge of theft in the fifth degree, brought by Clear Lake police, after an incident also on July 31 of 2015.

Really that’s it??? She Def needs jail time. The disabled can’t count on people like that. Just because they are disabled DOES NOT mean anyone can take advantage of them like that and think they can get away with it. I can’t believe that the system doesn’t take this seriously enough to put her ass in jail!!! It shows that our system is whacked out and shows what they think of the disabled. What if someone they loved became disabled and the same bitch did the same thing to them? Then would they have put her in jail? Or just a slap on the wrist? It’s a sad world we live in. I hope what comes around goes around for her. She looks like a druggie and probably wanted to save money on food so she could get drugs with her cash.

It is the judges fault. They are absolutely worthless.

What a piece of garbage she is. Deferred sentence is B.S. She needs jail and a lot of it.
