logo-iowa-state-patrolRURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – A Forest City woman was injured Tuesday after losing control of her vehicle on an icy Interstate highway.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 20-year-old Linzy Rose Vermedahl of Forest City was driving her 2000 Ford Explorer southbound on Interstate 35 in Cerro Gordo county on Tuesday morning around 7:59 AM. Due to an ice-covered roadway, she lost control of her vehicle, which proceeded to roll and come to rest in the west ditch, landing on the driver’s side.

Vermedahl – who was wearing a seatbelt – sustained undisclosed injuries in the accident, and was transported to a private physician (not by ambulance), a report says.
