MASON CITY – The Iowa National Guard’s 1133rd Transportation Company had their annual physical fitness test Saturday morning, October 1st.
The spokesman for the 1133rd informed us, “We do this each year. It lets us know how everybody is doing, individually and as a unit.”
Early Saturday morning, the men and women of the 1133rd could be seen running south of town from Mason City to Jonquil Avenue, Clear Lake. There were smiles and joking around after a brief time of catching their breath.
One individual said, “I know, you’re waiting to get a picture of one of us throwing up”.
“The individual stats are recorded on the computer, so we can see how they compare to previous years. Everybody has their own physical fitness program. The program is set up for each persons individuality, for example, their age, or if they are male or female.”
At the time, the report had not been completed. We were not able to report the results of the tests.
They looked to be in great shape.
