Marijuana growing operation discovered in Cedar Falls home

hemp marijuanaCEDAR FALLS, IOWA – A search warrant led to the discovery of a marijuana growing operation in a mobile home park

On January 11th, 2016, investigators with the Tri-County Drug Task Force assisted by the Cedar Falls Police Department executed a search warrant at the High Acres Mobile Home Park, 3004 W. 4th street lot 50 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. While searching the residence, Investigators uncovered a marijuana grow operation including numerous unprocessed marijuana plants and growing equipment. Also located during the search was processed marijuana bagged up and packaged for sale. The resident was located at the home and was identified as 34-year-old Joseph Michael Ackerson.

After the search was concluded, Ackerson was taken into custody and transported to the Black Hawk County Jail where he was charged with Manufacture of Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana and Drug Tax Stamp Violations.
