MASON CITY – A Mason City man accused of drunk driving and wanted for months was finally arrested by police and brought to jail.
Saturday, September 19, 2015, just before 11 AM, Mason City police were called to the area of Georgia Avenue and 4th Street NE for a collision. After an investigation, officers arrested 30-year-old Bryson Duane Eppens of Mason City on a charge of first offense operating while intoxicated, failure to maintain control, and driving with a suspended license.
Eppens was due in court on October 20 to be arraigned, but failed to appear. A warrant for his arrest was issued, and he had been wanted ever since.
Eppens was finally brought to jail December 25 after 10 PM when Mason City police responded to a father-son dispute at 540 East State Street Christmas night around 9:30 PM. He is being held on $2,600 bond. No new court date has been set.
Eppens was accused of drunk driving in 2013 but the charge was dismissed. He was found guilty of third-degree harassment this past September.
