CHARLES CITY – A Charles City woman was stopped and arrested for drunk driving.
On November 26 at about 2 AM, a Charles City police officer stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Gilbert Street and Clinton Street after the driver allegedly failed to stop for a traffic control device. After an investigation, the driver, 40-year-old Betsy Nootnagel, was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated. She was also charged with failure to obey a flashing red signal.
Nootnagle was jailed and then released the same day on a promise to appear in court.
