Pure Pleasure shoplifter flees, faces swath of charges

MASON CITY – A Mason City man is facing a swath of charges after he allegedly tried to steal from an adult novelty store and then broke a window to make his escape.

According to the Cerro GOrdo sheriff’s office, 22-year-old Dakota James Estal refused to stay in the Pure Pleasure building once he was confronted about an attempted theft of an item under $200.00. He had been ordered to wait for deputies to arrive.

Instead, he “busted the window out of the door and left the scene driving,” Sheriff Kevin Pals explained.

Estal was stopped shortly thereafter while driving. He was arrested and charged with the following crimes:
