MASON CITY – A Garner, Iowa man who earlier this month pled guilty to burglary there was caught in Mason City after allegedly burglarizing a house.
A Mason City woman living at 1426 3rd Street SE called police on August 20 at 7:42 AM to report that a male subject had entered her residence. The suspect, Eric Cuevas, age 25 of Garner, fled. Police caught him a few blocks away a short time later and he was arrested on a charge of felony 2nd degree burglary. He was jailed, but released the very next day.
Cuevas this month entered a guilty plea to 3rd degree burglary in Hancock county after being charged with felony 1st degree burglary by Garner police. He was given suspended fines and a suspended 5-year prison sentence and probation. He also pled guilty to domestic abuse and was given a 30 day jail term and a $65 fine.
Due to his arrest in Mason City, Cuevas is already facing a probation revocation hearing in Hancock county on September 8.
