FORT DODGE – A Fort Dodge teen caught after smashing her car into an electrical pole and running on foot from cops.

On Sunday, May 31st, 2015, at approximately 9:25 PM, Officer Burns with the Fort Dodge Police Department noticed a vehicle driving without it’s headlights in the 800 block of S 25th St. Officer Burns activated his emergency lights and attempted to stop the vehicle, a 1998 Lincoln Town Car. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop for the Officer.

The driver of the vehicle led Officer Burns on a short pursuit north on 25th St.The pursuit ended when the vehicle struck an electrical pole in the 2500 block of 2nd AveN. The driver of the vehicle fled the accident scene on foot but was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.

The driver of the vehicle Daesha Deandra Green, 18, of Fort Dodge was arrested and booked into the Webster County Jail on the following charges:

Eluding law enforcement officers-Aggravated Misdemeanor
Failure to have a valid license-Simple Misdemeanor

The juvenile passengers in the vehicle were treated at the scene and released to their parents. Mid American was contacted in reference to the damage to the pole. Green is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. A booking photo of Green can be obtained from the Webster County Jail.
