MASON CITY – An Ohio man was driving on the wrong side of the road, causing a car crash that sent a Mason City person to the hospital.
According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, on June 1 at about 5:44 PM, deputies responded to a tw-car accident near the 12000 block of 300th Street north of Mason City. A white Ford F-250 was traveling west and crossed the center line, over into eastbound traffic and collided with a silver 2013 Toyota Prius.
The driver of the pickup truck was Dennis King II of Franklin Furnace, Ohio and the driver of the Prius was Harsha Jayawardena, age 55, of Mason City.
Jayawardena was transported to Mercy Medical Center by Mason City fire medics with undisclosed injuries.
King was cited for driving left of center. The accident remains under investigation.
Harsha is a man.
