NASHUA – A Waverly man was killed Saturday in an auto accident in Chickasaw county.
The incident took place on the evening of Saturday, November 9, as emergency responders were called for a single vehicle accident in the 2900 block of Asherton Avenue, south of Nashua. A car driven by 27-year-old Matthew Nichols of Waverly was southbound on Asherton Avenue when he failed to negotiate a curve and entered the east ditch. The car rolled over twice before striking a telephone pole and coming to rest. Nichols, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Assisting at the scene were the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office and the Nashua Fire and Ambulance Departments.
