Iowa Transportation Commission Travels to Washington, D.C.

iowadotlogoAMES, Iowa – April 18, 2013 – Members of the Iowa Transportation Commission will travel to Washington, D.C., to meet with members of Iowa’s congressional delegation and officials from the U.S. Department of Transportation April 24 and 25, 2013.

Items to be discussed include state implementation of the federal surface transportation programs and the annual and long-term funding outlook and needs. Other possible discussion topics include potential changes in federal transportation programs; federal, state and local roles in surface transportation programs; and nonhighway modes of transportation. Commissioners will also attend meetings with US Department of Transportation officials.

Transportation-related matters will be discussed, but no action will be taken.
