“Financial investigation” ongoing at Mason City Ford dealership

MASON CITY – The Mason City Police Department went to the Ford Dealership, located at 215 15th Street SW (pictured), on December 22nd, 2011 and escorted eight employees out of the building related to a financial investigation.

A total of nine employees were terminated that day.

Mason City Ford owner Jim Skarlis was reached for comment.  “At this time, we will let the investigation run its course.  Truth is timeless.  Right is right and wrong is wrong.”

Mason City Police investigator Terrance Prochaska did say Monday that “it is an open investigation.  A financial investigation.  It could take months to get to the bottom of it.”

No other information would be released by the MCPD.

NorthIowaToday.com has received numerous tips and questions from the public about the incident.  The names of all the employees involved in the incident were not officially made available to NorthIowaToday.com.  Those names may surface in the MCPD investigation if charges are filed.

A welfare check was conducted at 8:50 pm on the evening of December 22, 2011 at the home of Tim Behm, located at 815 6th Place SE.  Behm was, until that day, Mason City Ford Sales Manager. Behm is no longer employed at the dealership.  The police report states that “subject was fine.”
