MASON CITY – A man who was accused of torturing a dog but got away with a plea deal was involved in a jailhouse fight and faces a new charge.
Dacota Alan Witham, age 27, had an interaction at the Cerro Gordo County Jail with 18-year-old Travis Nole Trustin on the evening of October 30 as both were in a common area of the jail. After an investigation into the fight by deputies, both men were charged with disorderly conduct.
Witham is awaiting a trip to the Beje Clark halfway house for domestic abuse and killing a dog, Kiara.
Trustin has been jailed since October 7 on charges of going armed with intent, harassment and assault causing bodily injury, all brought by Mason City police.
travis trustin is innocent and should not be in jail. he is telling the truth, you all have the wrong person in jail.
i hope you beat him good peaches i will be sure to take over where you left off. killing a defenceless dog is unforgivable witman. i hope you go to prison and rot, when you get out i got a dog that would like to meet you
Send him to prison where he belongs and let Bubba take care of him.
