MASON CITY – A Mason City woman passed out in a car caught with meth has hired a lawyer and pleaded not guilty.
Melody Rae Mcgurk, age 43 of Mason City, was caught by police on the morning of September 25 as she nodded off in a car parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot, located at 4151 4th Street SW. Upon arrival, police investigated and determined that Mcgurk was in possession of methamphetamine. She was arrested for possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia, jailed and later released after posting $1,000 bond.
Mcgurk has hired attorney John Lander of Mason City and pleaded not guilty to both charges. No trial date has been set.
