Branstad to attend dedication ceremony Friday in Osage for Valent Biosciences plant

OSAGE – Governor Terry Branstad will be in Osage later this week to attend a ceremony at one of North Iowa’s newest manufacturing plants.

Gov. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds will attend Valent Biosciences dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:00 AM Friday. The plant is located at 2142 350th Street in Osage, east of A to Z Drying.

Construction is wrapping up on the $150 million Valent Biosciences, which will employ about 400 temp workers and about 89 full-time employees. When complete, production will include microbial products as well as plant growth regulators and other biorationals using locally grown raw materials such as corn and soybeans.
