CHARLES CITY – Police in Charles City were called to a disturbance and encountered two intoxicated women facing off in the street.
According to Charles City police, on September 5 at 9:13 PM, officers were beckoned to the 500 block of E Street to quell a disturbance between two women who were arguing in the street. Police arrived and determined that 26-year-old Lucille Sanders-Lane and 25-year-old Latasha Brown were intoxicated. Sanders-Lane was arrested and charged with second offense public intoxication while Brown was arrested and charged with first offense public intoxication.
Both were booked into jail and soon released. Brown pled guilty three days later and was assessed $195 in costs and fines. Sanders-Lane is awaiting a court date not yet disclosed.
