Rolfe, Iowa man convicted of drunk driving and meth possession after stop by Hancock deputy

gavel-justiceGARNER – A rural North Iowa man is in jail after a conviction on charges of second offense drunk driving and possession of methamphetamine.

Brooks Ryan Gangestad, age 33 of Rolfe, pled guilty to aggravated misdemeanor second offense operating while intoxicated and serious misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine stemming from a traffic stop by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office on September 8, 2013.

Gangestad was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail and pay $2,541.25. All but seven days of the jail sentence were suspended, and Gangestad will be on probation for one year to the Department of Correctional Services. He will also be required to attend a drinking driver’s course and to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and complete follow through treatment.
