CASS COUNTY – A Pittsburg, Pennsylvania man was killed while riding his motorcycle on an Iowa Interstate highway late last week.
On Thursday, August 14 at about 4:20 PM, a Wyoming man was driving a F350 pickup truck eastbound on I-80 in a construction zone with traffic going head-to-head. The pickup was pulling a trailer, and the rear tire and wheel on the trailer came off the trailer and then bounced into the eastbound lane and struck a motorcycle driver. The driver of the 2001 Harley Davidson, 39-year-old Andrew Joseph Engle, was struck in the upper body and head area by the wheel.
Engle was taken to the Cass County Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
