Tyler Trout to face trial Monday for charges related to underage drinking party

MASON CITY – Tyler Trout – the son 18-year-old son of Mason City’s City Administrator – will face trial on Monday, April 14 on charges brought against him for allegedly hosting an underage drinking party.

The party was held at 10 Granite Court in Mason City, owned by Brent Trout.

Tyler Trout was charged on February 22 with a municipal infraction for social host and issued a criminal citation for unlawful consumption of alcohol. Police were dispatched for a disturbance at 10 Granite Court after a possible underage party was reported at that address. Three juveniles were arrested at the location and a total of five adults were also cited.

Tyler Trout has pleaded not guilty to social host violation and underage drinking.  On April 9, attorney Mark Young – who works for the City of Mason City – filed a motion to dismiss the charge of unlawful consuming of alcohol.  Records show that the trial on that charge is still scheduled.
