MASON CITY – Registration is open for summer courses at North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC). Students are encouraged to call now and enroll.

Summer school is a great opportunity for many people. “Taking a summer class can help students lighten their course load for the fall. If they are home for the summer, but attend another college or university, we help them transfer those credits back to their school,” said NIACC Admissions Director Rachel McGuire.

Many online courses are also offered, making it easy for students to enroll and take a course from any location. For students who are planning to graduate from high school, they can get a head start on college, whether they are attending NIACC or another school.

“We are excited about the many good things happening at the College right now,” McGuire said. “We are in the process of building new student housing. The College also just received another national ranking, the fourth one in the past two years. We have a lot to be excited about.”

One new thing this summer is that the College is offering four summer sessions, rather than three. Sessions begin on the date listed below but follow different formats for ending dates. Check the web site for the start and end dates of the course: www.niacc.edu

Session dates are:

Session 1: Begins May 5 Session 3: Begins June 30

Session 2: Begins June 2 Session 4: Begins June 2
