CHARLES CITY — A juvenile riding an electric bicycle on a sidewalk suffered minor injuries after crashing into a Honda Civic in Charles City.
According to the Charles City Police Department, officers responded on May 5, 2026, at approximately 5:13 p.m. to the 1700 block of Clark Street for a report of a car versus electric bike crash.
Police said the juvenile was riding an electric bicycle eastbound on the sidewalk. At the same time, a gold Honda Accord driven by Marianne Kuethe was also traveling eastbound on Clark Street and made a legal right turn while using turn signals.
The e-bike struck the passenger-side door of the Honda, causing damage to the door and breaking a window, police said.
The juvenile received minor injuries. Police said the juvenile’s parents were contacted and took the child to Floyd County Medical Center.
Total damage was estimated at about $1,400.
