MASON CITY – Mason City officials reported Wednesday afternoon that there is a water main break near the 200 block of 13th Street SE.
The water service will be interrupted between South Pennsylvania and Georgia Avenues until repairs are made. Also, 13th Street SE will be closed between South Pennsylvania and Georgia Avenues. Motorists should avoid traveling in this area until the repairs are made.
Officials have warned in recent days of frozen pipes and other problems caused by the on-going frigid temps.
Late last week in near the same area, at 15th SE and Massachusetts Avenue, there was another water main break, which caused quite a mess. Police responded on the evening of February 9th while workers tended to the break.
