NEW HAMPTON – A suspect has been named in the 2012 murder of a Nashua man.
On October 4, 2012, 70-year-old Carl Kenneth Gallmeyer was found deceased inside his residence located at 1091 240 Street in Nashua, Iowa. The Iowa Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide.
The Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office has worked diligently in collaboration with several law enforcement agencies in Iowa along with the Gallmeyer family to resolve the crime.
Those agencies include, but are not limited to; the Iowa Attorney Generals Office, the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa, Agents with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Charles City Police and Floyd County Sheriff.
The Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday announced that Randy Lee Patrie, 41, of Charles City, IA is a viable suspect in the death of Ken Gallmeyer.
Patrie is currently in custody of the US Marshal for the Northern District of Iowa on weapon and burglary charges. Patrie has been in custody since July 2013.
The investigation into Randy Lee Patrie for the death of Ken Gallmeyer is continuing with no further information being released at this time.
