Mason City police chase and taser man after he allegedly robs woman

MASON CITY – Mason City police chased and tasered a wanted man after he allegedly robbed a woman.

On August 7, 2021, The Mason City Police Department responded to a possible Robbery call in the 400 block of Tiffany Drive. A citizen reported that a female stated that she had been robbed by a male subject. When officers approached the male subject he took off running. After a foot pursuit the male subject was apprehended by use of the Taser.

Timothy Birmingham, age 39, was charged with Interference with Official Acts. Birmingham also had two warrants for Failure to Appear on Providing False Information and Operating a Vehicle without Owners Consent. Birmingham was transported to Mercy One by the Mason City Fire Department at his request.

The victim was unable to be identified. Anyone with further information is encouraged to contact the Mason City Police Department.

Duh!!! thats why he wasnt charged with robbery!!! he was charged with running from police

If you read the article, it clearly states “After he allegedly robbed a woman”.

Good Lord what horrible reading comprehension skills! READ THE SECOND PARAGRAPH. It’s right under the single sentence first paragraph.

Did he sing, “You light up my life”?

If the victim wasn’t identified, than how do police know anyone was robbed. Won’t someone have to identify he was the man who robbed them? Hmmm, this sounds a little strange.

Could this be the same guy they’re looking for for the DQ break-in that’s right down the road that happened on the same day?
