MASON CITY – A Mason City man who has plead guilty to several violent crimes is back in jail at this time, charged with a felony.
Police responded to a domestic disturbance at the 400 block of West State Street on November 27th at about 9:00 AM and arrested Jermaine T. Riley, age 32. Riley was charged with felony D domestic abuse assault, 3rd or subsequent offense.
Riley remains in the Cerro Gordo County Jail at this time, on $5,000.00 cash-only bond. He has a court date set for December 6th.
Riley plead guilty in 2012 to a charge of domestic abuse assault in Cerro Gordo county.
Also in 2012, Riley plead guilty in Black Hawk county to child endangerment and a second charge of domestic abuse assault. He was shipped back to Mason City by authorities.
Again in 2012, Riley plead guilty to public intoxication and was charged $214.50 in court costs and fines; he still owes the entire amount. Riley plead guilty to the same offense in early 2013, and still owes $288.75 to Iowa courts in that case. Both charges were brought by Mason City police.
Further complicating matters for Riley, a Mason City woman, in late October of 2013, went to Cero Gordo county court to establish paternity and child support against Riley. A genetic test was performed in November by Labcorp, and results are pending.
