From Progress Iowa –

DES MOINES – Iowa ranks 46th out of 50 states in job growth, according to figures released today by the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. The figures were released just days after the Branstad admitted their past job creation claims were exaggerated.

“This is the latest example of Governor Branstad’s complete failure to work for middle class Iowa families,” said Matt Sinovic, executive director of Progress Iowa. “The Governor admitted to overstating job growth on Friday, and today we find out we’re ranked 46th out of 50 states. To create good jobs the Governor should invest in Iowa’s middle class, instead of funding tax giveaways to foreign corporations.”

The Branstad administration claims job growth of 128,000 since taking office, although those figures have received widespread scrutiny as they do not account for jobs lost. Net job growth has been much slower than the administration has admitted, with just 48,200 net jobs added since January of 2011.

Iowa fell to 46th after being ranked 14th the previous year. Only New Mexico, Kentucky, Alabama, and Alaska fared worse in the Arizona State study.

  1. The joke is that you clowns somehow think there’s a difference between these two gangs, the Democrips and Rebloodlicans. They are the same party. Iowa is the worse of both worlds, high taxes and anti freedom too boot.

Look at the World Almanac and look at small towns around the country and you’ll see that Iowa is losing population compared to most other areas that double every ten to twenty years. The writing is on the wall. People just don’t want to be here.
I heard it said before and its true. When Iowa used to get mentioned on Johnny Carson the studio audience would boo. It’s only gotten worse. Look around you, all I see here are little people complaining about those druggies and welfare people. You white trash ought to talk, I mean really.

  2. Pot calling the Kettle black. This Progress Iowa should change their name to Anti Progress Iowa. It would be a more factual name.

Anti Progress Iowa support of Iowa’s high tax rate is one of the biggest factors for the low jobs numbers. That and the Iowa Communist Party (formerly Democratic Party) pushing the “Spreading The Poverty” programs are at fault. They have only themselves to blame for the low job numbers.

Trying to put the blame on Gov. Branstad is just another tactic to take the focus off the Iowa Communist Party and their “Spreading the Poverty” programs. The folks see right through you!

If you look at the job creation numbers in the entire United States since Comrade Obama took office 5 years ago, the blame for high unemployment rests entirely on the Communist Party. Comrades Obama,Reid and Pelosi and their spreading the poverty programs they have initiated has dealt a devastating blow to job creation in America.

  3. Progress Iowa again. No one believes anything this left wing liberal group says. Having any kind of job growth in Iowa is going to be tough with a declining population. Why would any company grow here or come into the state with less and less of a labor pool to draw from. Iowa like most states is going the wrong way with more and more taxes and the money going to special interest.
