Former Family Practitioner, General Practitioner, Critical Care Specialist, now convicted sex offender
DES MOINES – A doctor who practiced medicine in several North Iowa area communities and plead guilty this year to sexual exploitation has surrendered his medical license and faces a big fine.
In a report released this month, the Iowa Board of Medicine took disciplinary action against Brian J. Hansen, who was charged this year with multiple counts of sex crimes he allegedly committed while working as a doctor in Hampton, Iowa at Franklin General Hospital. Hansen soon thereafter plead guilty to one count of sexual exploitation, a class D felony.
Hansen, who still lives in Hampton, was then sentenced to prison for five years, but that term was suspended. He was ordered to pay court costs and a $7,500 fine. Hansen must also register as an Iowa sex offender and pay restitution.
Hansen reached an agreement with the Iowa Board of Medicine on October 25, 2013. Under the terms of the agreement, Hansen surrendered his medical license and agreed to pay a $10,000 civil penalty.
Hansen has practiced medicine in Hampton, Charles City, Webster City, and Fairfield, Iowa.
Now this Sicko has been arrested for breaking NCO harassing, and trying to intimadate his victims. Seems like socialpathic behavior! This man is very dangerous. He has mentally, physically, and sexually abused. Had promiscuous sex and been found guilty … anyone would be embarrassed and hide on a hole…. but not this man.. he doesn’t even get what he did was morally wrong, unethical, AND against the law. He and his family try to intimidate those that broke his cycle of abuse and spoke out. Seems like a time bomb waiting to go off. Hopefully the law does something about it before a victim is seriously hurt or killed!! Those that stood by him, namely his wife, family should be ashamed! !!! I’d be cutting ties with this man if I were them. People might not be telling you to your faces but most know this man has major problems! !!
Now his brother in involved in it…. calling out these victims “whores” in a Sheffield restaurant in front of everyone and their husbands, then writing WHORE in the yard of one of the gals in a chemical. Sad.
When Mercy covers up this man’s sexual abuse of others up for 10+ years what do you expect? His abuse was at Mercy Hospital from yhe beginning of his employment with them. Numerous complaints had been made to Supervisors, and human relatiinswith them ignoring them ALL…well not ignoring them but they punished the victims and anyone making a complaints, putting his victoms on performance plans, threatening their jobs, if the spoke of anything reported they would be terminated, only to be targeted and let go for false accusations later, or forced to leave their employment due to the harassing environment. THIS WAS ALL AT MASON CITY HOSPITAL BEFOTE HE WAS PROMOTED TO HAMPTON to continue his abuse. There are so many more victims over the years, employees, patients, and minors… it is just sicking…AND TO KNOW MERCY MASON CITY DID NOT PUT AN END TO THIS…. but what do you expect from a place where people in charge from administration to Dr’s abuse people on a daily basis. The CEO Jim Sexton was LET to resign because of his sexual behavior only to be moved on to another hospital…dr’s doing the same thing as Brian Hanson. Affairs going on all over the place, employees being subjected to it and fearful to report due to threats of loosing their jobs. THIS MERY IS BEING RUN BY ABUSIVE MANAGEMENT. Most working there know the public would be shocked what goes on and LET to go on that is covered up. Mercy is LET to do anything they want to anyone …just try and find any support, help, or a lawyer to go against them…there is none… Mercy knows it and laughs in your face aboit it. Feels like socialpaths are running whole thing. Report to their main Trinity organization …

Lol you must be part of them. LET me spell it out… there is proof… it’s all covered up… anyone speaks up and we all know you will be let go. When the scandals do finally come out theres your proff… Jim Sexton sex scandal, Brian Hanson sexual abuse, and numerous others through out the years. You really think those are it??!!!! Lol and those have come out only because people reported to Trinitt in Michigan or the law….and they were still half ass covered up. When speaking of Mercy crookedness why does it always have to be a disgruntled employee??? Everyone that works there knows what goes on…they can’t think anyone is that stupid… nope they don’t …they know we all know…they don’t care, they threaten your job, let people go, then use those as examples to the rest as to what will happen if anyone speaks out. Most employees loveand their jobs and patients, NOT the crooked law breaking heads that run Mercy Mason. The whole hospital needs to be investigated. MAYBE with the new merger coming that Corp. will take a look at it. … some are reporting things to Trinity and them, wanting unions…. like mercy Des Moines …that snuck up on them and was done befote management stopped it!!! Likewise will eventually happen here … wait and see. The public has a right to know!!!!
@fed up…nope not one of “them”..but have family and friends who have worked there and continue to work there. They say the exact opposite of what you say as the gospel truth. Jim Sexton resigned from Mercy to take a new hob as president and ceo of henry ford hospital in Michigan. None of the employees I talk to say anything about “cover ups”, “abuses”, or do they say they are afraid of losing their jobs because if they say something about the fabricated storys you are talking about that they would lose their jobs.
AGAIN…I ask you what proof do you have of all your made up problems at Mercy? Show me and I will post a apology to you on this site. In the meantime keep your insane and imagined rantings and ravings to yourself.

Baahaha….. Jim Sexton was let to resign….after his sex scandal involving major heads, his affair with another women grom Mercy, and the sexual parties. He was LET to resign from Mercy, helped to get another job with good recommendations in exchange for him keeping quite. You must not be talking to the right employees. You have numerous Drs and heads of depts involved. Over the years there have been many scandals involving many Drs that have came out…most still working there. I could name 8 incidents off the top of my head. The sick things that go on at that place is unreal. You think this sexual abuse is the only one they tried to cover up???? They let a convicted sexual offender in to the resident program. They Knew! !! And still let him in, until one of us exposed it…look it up in the papers. You think this one is the only one Mercy illegally wiped porn off computers, fired, and harassed the employess that turned it in looking for help??? COMMON SENSE would tell anyone NO. If they go this length to cover up sexual abuse how well do you think they care about their patients, and employees??? My God people what employer does that??? If an employer does that over and over do you think we are dumb enough to think we are safe if we we’re ever put in a situation where we would need help. LOL ….. I was called disgruntled in a different article when I said the city BLUE ZONE would be in the good after they were paid off by Mercy after Mercy railroaded the neighbors. Was told I didn’t know what I was talking about and just disgruntled making false claims…bahaa jokes on you, cause guess what BLUE ZONE IS IN THE GOOD NOW THAT MERCY PAID THEM OFF!!!!! I’m not disgruntled about my job, like I said most of us love our jobs, and patients JUST NOT THE CROOKED MANAGEMENT. The things they do are law breaking and brushed under the rug. Slowly and surely we will get to where someone will take a look at it all!!!! One exposed scandal after another…or one rotten one at a time …. stay tuned…. some of the heads that have been exposed to this crap and have seen it first hand and want NO part of it want changes for the better.

If you don’t trust the mercy medical team and feel you have to be “very careful” then go somewhere else…plain and simple.
When you’re a professional, you just pay money and give up a license. If you’re not, you are supposed to go to prison and lose your home and become a felon.

Cause Mercy and his daddy back him up. They both think it’s ok to sexually abuse people. Mercy and this guy are above the law…so they think SICK!!!
