Dr. Brian Hansen pleads guilty to one count of sexual exploitation

justice2HAMPTON – A Hampton doctor accused of sexual misconduct accepted a plea deal today in court where he plead guilty to one count of sexual exploitation, KCCI reported.

Brian J. Hansen, 40, faced 8 felony charges – six sexual exploitation charges and two sexual abuse charges.

Hansen was sentenced Thursday to a suspended five-year sentence and five years of probation for having sexual contact with patients and co-workers, KCCI reported, and he must register as a sex offender.

Hansen had his medical license suspended last year.  The allegations included what the board called a “pattern of sexual misconduct” including making threats and forcing sex acts on women with whom he worked and other women to whom he provided medical care.

Hansen has practiced medicine in Hampton, Charles City, Webster City, and Fairfield, Iowa.
