Iowa Transportation Commission to meet Oct. 8 in Mason City

AMES – On Monday, Oct. 7, the Iowa Transportation Commission and Iowa Department of Transportation staff will tour transportation projects starting at 9 a.m. at the Iowa DOT headquarters at 800 Lincoln Way in Ames and ending around 3 p.m. at the Historic Park Inn, 7 W. State St., in Mason City. Transportation-related matters may be discussed, but no action will be taken on the tour.

The Iowa Transportation Commission will hold then hold a business meeting Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Historic Park Inn, 7 W. State St., in Mason City, beginning at 8:00 AM.

Various topics will be discussed at the business meeting, according to an agenda provided by the Iowa DOT, including: Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy (RISE) Applications for Audubon County, Sully, Van Meter, and the City of Allison. A recommendation on state recreational trails program funding will be announced. The states Highway-Railroad Crossing Safety Program will also be discussed.

A public input meeting will then be held at 8:35 AM. Remarks from City Administrator Brent Trout from the City of Mason City will begin at 8:35 AM. Joni Dunn will make remarks about the Mason City Airport at 8:45 AM. Joe Myhre will next make remarks about the North Iowa Area Council of Governments ay 8:50 AM.
